Herm Edwards Reveals His Honest Thoughts About Daniel Jones

The Indianapolis Colts are riding a wave of success that few saw coming.

At 7-1, they’ve posted their best start in over a decade, and the partnership between Daniel Jones and head coach Shane Steichen has transformed the offense into one of the league’s most efficient units.

The team converts nearly two-thirds of its drives into points while averaging 41 yards per possession, numbers that reflect both execution and design.

Jones has shed his inconsistent past and emerged as a legitimate difference-maker in Indianapolis.

Former NFL head coach Herm Edwards appeared on ESPN Radio’s Freddie and Harry show and offered his perspective on the quarterback’s resurgence.

“They’re not blinking. This is a good football team. And kudos to (Daniel Jones). He was Danny Dimes in New York, and now he’s Indiana Jones. He changed his hat, I guess,” Edwards said. “All of a sudden, he is playing good, man. He is playing lights out. And that’s coaching matters, and obviously, he found the place.”

The Colts delivered another dominant performance Sunday, dismantling the Tennessee Titans 38-14 to extend their winning streak to four games.

Jones was precise throughout, completing 21 of 29 passes for 272 yards and three touchdowns while limiting mistakes.

Through eight games, he has guided Indianapolis to the NFL’s best record while accumulating 2,062 passing yards, 13 touchdowns through the air, and four more on the ground.

The quarterback-coach pairing has reshaped both the franchise and Jones himself.

Once viewed as a failed experiment in New York, he has rewritten his narrative through steady play and improved decision-making.

The upcoming stretch will test whether this surge holds up against elite competition.

Indianapolis travels to Pittsburgh to face one of football’s top defenses before hosting Atlanta at home.

Going 9-1 in that stretch would silence any remaining doubts about them being true contenders.
