**Tottenham Hotspur come to St James' Park on Wednesday night for a Carabao Cup clash live on ITV and Sky Sports, kick-off is at 8 pm.**
Newcastle United are, of course, defending their Carabao Cup title after lifting the trophy at Wembley in March.
Last season, the Magpies had to do it the hard way, beating the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal, and after seeing off Bradford in the third round, it's back to Premier League opposition for Eddie Howe.
We know that Eddie Howe is going to treat the competition with respect, given that we've reached the final twice during his tenure, but that doesn't mean he won't take the opportunity to tinker.

Could Harvey Barnes be in line for a start against Spurs?
Eddie Howe is planning on making changes to the team tomorrow
-------------------------------------------------------------
Speaking to the media (via [The Chronicle](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/eddie-howe-live-newcastle-united-32760544)) on Tuesday morning, Eddie Howe hinted that there would be changes, but he will be setting up to progress.
> "It is important for this game to make the right decision; we want to progress. The competition means a lot to us, we are current holders, we don't want to give that up easily.
>
> "However, I have a squad, I need to try and get the balance right, there are players who need the football."
Tottenham will be a massive test for Newcastle
----------------------------------------------
We expect that Thomas Frank will use this opportunity to rotate his squad too, so Eddie Howe won't be expecting to come up against a 'full-strength' Spurs side.
Newcastle will be hoping that home advantage will serve them well tomorrow night too, as they look to book their place in the draw for the quarter-finals.
This will be a huge test for Newcastle, there's no doubt about that, but if they can come through this round, they will feel like they're in a good place to go all the way again.
