Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco reached a rare milestone on Sunday that he hadn’t accomplished in nearly a decade.
The veteran signal-caller rushed for a first-quarter touchdown on a one-yard scramble into the end zone against the Jets.
That play energized Cincinnati and etched Flacco into NFL history, marking a moment few expected from the experienced quarterback.
Joe Flacco has etched his name among a rare class of quarterbacks who have refused to let age slow them down on the ground.

“Joe Flacco becomes the 6th QB since at least 1950 to score a rushing TD at age 40+,” NFL on CBS shared on X.

Flacco has found himself under center in Cincinnati after beginning the 2025 season with the Cleveland Browns.
The Bengals needed a veteran who could deliver quality performances while Joe Burrow recovers from injury.
The recently traded quarterback threw for 342 yards and three touchdowns in his previous outing against Pittsburgh.
That performance also made history as Flacco became the first quarterback ever to record 300-plus passing yards, three-plus touchdowns, and zero interceptions for four separate franchises: the Ravens, Jets, Colts, and now the Bengals.
Against the Jets, Flacco completed 21 of 34 passes for 223 yards and two touchdowns while adding two rushes for 14 yards.
Despite his individual achievement, the Bengals fell 39-38 to New York, handing the Jets their first win of the season.
He has posted three total touchdowns in each of his last two starts, showing renewed life in Cincinnati’s offense.
The defense let the Bengals down Sunday, allowing New York to dominate the fourth quarter 23-7 and escape with the victory.
Flacco had a chance to lead a late comeback, but Cincinnati turned it over on downs.
