Werder Bremen’s managing director has insisted that Burnley’s interest in Kari Coulibaly is not something they are concerned about.

He was asked directly about Burnley’s interest in the 18-year-old.
A report on Saturday insisted that Scott Parker’s side were keen on the 18-year-old defender. He’s been making a positive impression in the Bundesliga this season.
And that’s led Burnley to watching him very closely. In fact, their scout Anri Kaca was spotted in the stands at Werder Bremen on Friday. He was sat alongside agent Nochi Hamazor and Koulibaly’s father. That was seen as a clear sign of just how interested Burnley are in the youngster.
Fritz, though, is keen to emphasise that they’re not concerned in the slightest. In fact, he sees Burnley’s scouting trip as a positive.
“It doesn’t make us nervous at all,” he told the website.
“It’s more of a compliment to his and our work that we do here. We appreciate him very much; we are happy that he has arrived so well in the Bundesliga and are happy that he has a long-term contract with us.
“There are only eight match days completed, so we do not deal with transfer issues,” he affirms. “There were no official requests for him either.”
According to Deich Stube, that confidence comes from the fact Koulibaly’s current contract doesn’t include a release clause. That means any interested parties ‘would to open the wallet very wide’ for the youngster.
That tallies with the report from Saturday, which made it clear that Bremen are expecting to make a big profit on the youngster.
Whether Burnley are willing to now make things official, remains to be seen. Their special scouting trip isn’t causing any panic, though.
