Manchester United are in negotiations to sign Kevin Filling

Manchester United are said to be in ‘concrete talks’ to sign AIK striker Kevin Filling.

The Red Devils are lining up a January move to sign the 16-year-old wonderkid as Ruben Amorim looks to bolster his goalscoring options for years to come.

Since INEOS took charge of football operations, United have moved to sign young upcoming talent in cut-price transfers to their U18 and U21 squads, with Filling said to be the next player that United are looking to bring through the door at Carrington.

According to Sky Sports in Germany, United are in ‘concrete talks’ to sign Filling and the Swede could be available for around €3million (£2.6m). However, Filling also has interest from a number of Bundesliga clubs.

Filling has scored two goals for AIK in seven appearances in the Allsvenskan, including on his debut against Goteburg when he started and scored, becoming an overnight sensation.

He later scored a 96th minute winner in the fierce Stockholm derby against Brommapojkarna, securing a dramatic 2-1 victory and etching his name into club folklore.

AIK are said to be reluctant to let their teenage sensation leave and tied Filling down to a three-year professional contract after his derby goal.

Speaking to Fotbollskanalen, Filling distanced himself from transfer speculation. "I don't think about it," he said.

"I focus on where I am now. At AIK. I rub here every training session. I try not to think about it in any special way. I just look at where I am now. I am in AIK and I continue here every training. I will become better as a person and as a player. That is where I am."

Sky in Germany have also recently reported that United and Newcastle are two of many clubs closely monitoring Elliot Anderson’s situation at Nottingham Forest.

The England international has gained plenty of admirers with his midfield performances for Forest, who are reportedly demanding a fee between £100m-£120m.

Anderson, 22, has made himself a core part of Thomas Tuchel ’s England squad, picking up four caps in the last two international breaks.

Given Forest’s woeful start to the season, with controversial owner Evangelos Marinakis now on his third manager of the season after Sean Dyche became lucky number three at the City Ground following the sacking of Nuno Espirito Santos and Ange Postecoglou, Anderson’s price tag could tumble.
