Keith Andrews discussed the form of one of the forwards in the **Brentford**ranks.
Igor Thiago injured his meniscus before the start of the 2024/25 season, sitting out of action in his debut campaign until November and only playing eight times for the Bees in the Premier League.
The exodus of talent this summer saw Bryan Mbeumo move to **Man United**and Yoane Wissa go to Newcastle United, so someone needed to step up. Kevin Schade showed his goal threat with 11 strikes last campaign in the league, and the Brazilian has been a brilliant accomplice. With his strike from the penalty spot against **Liverpool**in a 3-2 win on the weekend, he has hit six league goals.
Now, he is level on goals for the campaign with Antoine Semenyo and only behind Erling Haaland in the scoring stakes in the whole division. Having worked as a set-piece coach for the club under Thomas Frank, Andrews has seen the steel of the attacker, and he is happy to see the resurgence.
"The one thing we have got is individual brilliance. I think we really have that in the squad, players capable of moments. That comes from the environment, the support they get, the training model as we are big on developing player's individual qualities.
"I like [Igor] a lot. His heart is huge. His spirit, his courage, the adversity he faced last year around his injury, settling into a new country and culture. I think what he got here was real support and a real belief in him. As a person he really settled into this club.
“I speak pretty much every day about his game and how we can improve him. He's a nightmare to play against, that's the reality of the way he plays the game with such hunger. Sometimes you have to calm him down slightly! He's proving to be a major player for us which we thought he would be."
