Nottingham Forest 'are aware' of growing interest in star midfielder Elliot Anderson.

That's according to Sky Sports Germany who say Manchester United and Newcastle United are 'two of many' leading clubs who are keeping tabs on the England international.

Reporter Florian Plettenberg claims the pair have already registered their interest but adds that Forest see him as a key player.

Indeed so key that he reckons a fee of around £100–120 million 'is currently being demanded'. Plettenberg also says there is no release clause in the contract that brought Anderson from Newcastle in the summer of 2024.

At the time Anderson was regarded as a victim of the Profitability & Sustainability Rules which meant Newcastle had to cash in on a homegrown player viewed as pure profit on the balance sheet.

Since then his importance to Forest has grown and amid all the uncertainty off the field, one thing Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou and Sean Dyche clearly all agree on, is starting the 22-year-old as often as possible.

Anderson has played every minute of Premier League football this season, with nine appearances taking his total to 54 during which time he has also convinced Thomas Tuchel of his merits.

Anderson has started all four England matches so far this term too, he is under contract at the City Ground until the summer of 2029.
