The 2025 NBA season is only a few games old for most teams, but there have already been some massive surprises when it comes to NBA Draft lottery teams firing out of the gate and showing that their young talent could prove to be successful on the court this year.

Only a week into the new season, there are four remaining undefeated teams left in the league, including the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder. However, the three other teams were all selecting inside the top 12 of the 2025 NBA Draft lottery in June.
The Chicago Bulls, Philadelphia 76ers and San Antonio Spurs were all bottom-tier teams last season, but all picked up franchise cornerstones in the 2025 draft that are now contributing heavily early in the new campaign.
Dylan Harper, VJ Edgecombe and Noa Essengue all have found perfect spots on teams that are looking to rebuild after tough 2024 seasons, and Edgecombe especially has carved out a significant role for the Sixers after dropping the third-highest rookie debut point total in NBA history.
