Browns Insider Poses Frightening Myles Garrett Question

Myles Garrett remains one of the most dominant forces in the NFL this season, but simultaneously, the Cleveland Browns remain one of the league’s worst teams. Neither outcome should be surprising.

Garrett racked up five sacks this past Sunday, only to see the Browns get routed by the New England Patriots, 32-13. The former Defensive Player of the Year expressed visible frustration on the sideline, and with Cleveland now just 2-6, you have to wonder if Garrett regrets signing that four-year, $160 million contract extension with the club during the offseason.

During a recent appearance on 92.3 the Fan, Browns insider Scott Petrak wondered aloud about Garrett’s future in Cleveland and whether or not he will finally say that enough is enough.

“I know he’s frustrated. I know he wants to win,” Petrak said. “… Maybe he will be remembered as a guy that just lost all the time and he doesn’t want that.”

Of course, the Browns went just 3-14 last year, which is why Garrett initially demanded a trade at the beginning of the offseason to begin with. He knew this ahead of time, but settled for briefly becoming the highest-paid non-quarterback in football history back in March.

“I just wonder when the frustration will really get to him, because we saw that end of last year it did, and that’s how the trade request started,” Petrak added. “I think he’s in a better position to handle that, but if they keep losing, who knows.”

Garrett is now under contract with Cleveland through 2030, which will certainly take him through his prime years. But is it possible the 29-year-old will try to force his way out long before that deal comes to an end?

The Browns originally selected Garrett with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft. He has since established himself as one of the best players of his generation and just clinched his eighth straight double-digit sack campaign (he already has 10 sacks through eight games in 2025).

Whether or not Garrett becomes so tired of losing that he requests a trade again remains to be seen, but it seems pretty obvious that the Texas A&M product is not happy in Cleveland right now.
