The Milwaukee Bucks are 2-1 on the season following their 118-113 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday night. While there are very few, if any, moral victories in the NBA, the fact that Giannis Antetokounmpo and the rest of the Bucks key players made it a competitive game after falling behind by 18 at one point is commendable.
Going into the season, many wondering if Milwaukee would be able to hang with Cleveland and the other top teams in the Eastern Conference. After all, instead of pairing Giannis with another superstar player, the Bucks decided to waive Damian Lillard and surround Giannis with lethal three-point shooters, many of whom were on the roster already.
And while the season is still young, there is a great deal to like about the Bucks and how competitive they are. Of course, with Giannis as their star, Milwaukee has as good of a chance as any to win on any given night.
The fact that Giannis is off to a historic start to the regular season certainly helps.

Giannis is widely considered to be one of the best players in the NBA, but the fact that he plays in (and will not leave) the smallest market in the league oftentimes results in his achievements being overlooked or not given the attention they deserve.
On Sunday evening, in the loss to Cleveland, Giannis had 40 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists. With this performance, he became the first player in NBA history to have 100+ points, 40+ rebounds, and 15+ assists through the first three games of any season:

In three games this season, Giannis has 108 points, 48 rebounds, and 21 assists having put up the following stat lines:
37 points, 14 rebounds, five assists
31 points, 20 rebounds, seven assists
40 points, 14 rebounds, nine assists
A two-time NBA MVP, Giannis has finished no higher than third in MVP voting in each of the past five seasons. If he keeps putting up numbers like these, this could be the year that he finally takes home his third award.
