With Week 8 of the 2025 NFL season in the books, the pecking order of the best offenses in the league continues to change as teams like the Indianapolis Colts and Buffalo Bills prove why they are among the cream of the crop. Ahead of this weekend’s games, let’s take a look at the best and worst units right now with our Week 9 NFL offense rankings.
32. Tennessee Titans (LW: 32)
nfl offense rankings
Robert Goddin-Imagn Images
In 2024, the Tennessee Titans’ offense was one of the worst in the league. Despite having some solid skills players like Calvin Ridley and Tony Pollard this year, as well as No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward, the unit remains among the very baddest in the NFL.
Sunday was another long day for the struggling Titans offense. They managed just 14 points in another loss, this time to the Colts. Ward was okay as he threw for 259 yards, and got some decent play from his receivers (93 yards from Chimere Dike), but it wasn’t nearly enough to keep pace with an elite Colts offense
31. New Orleans Saints (LW: 31)
nfl offense rankings
Stephen Lew-Imagn Images
Despite speculation that rookie Tyler Shough would win the starting QB job, the New Orleans Saints have gone with 2024 fifth-rounder Spencer Rattler as their starting QB over the first half of 2025. Despite meaningful skill players like Alvin Kamara and Chris Olave, and decent play from Rattler, the NO offense has been among the worst in the league this season.
In Week 8, they fell for a third straight week in an ugly loss at home. In their 23-3 drubbing to the Bucs, the big standout was Kellen Moore seeing enough and finally bringing Shough in to relieve Rattler. The keys to the offense could soon be handed off to the rookie.
30. Cleveland Browns (LW: 29)
nfl offense rankings
Kirby Lee-Imagn Images
The Cleveland Browns’ offense has been an unsurprising mess again in 2025. While Joe Flacco was given the keys to the offense, the greybeard’s poor play led to getting benched after four starts. Thus far, the lone bright spot has been the strong play of rookie running back Quinshon Judkins.
After a day of celebration last week, the Browns’ offense fell back to earth hard on Sunday. They were held to just 13 points in a blowout loss to the Patriots. The run game was held in check, and rookie Dillon Gabriel hit on just 21 of his 35 passes and tossed a pair of interceptions. It was a one-step forward, two steps back day for the Browns.
29. Las Vegas Raiders (LW: 28)
nfl offense rankings
Geoff Burke-Imagn Images
The Las Vegas Raiders’ offense’s lone bright spot last year was the emergence of Brock Bowers as one of the best tight ends in the league. However, in 2025, the young star has not been able to help pull this group out of being a mediocre defense, even with veteran QB Geno Smith.
Week 7 was a new low point as the unit was completely shut out by the Chiefs. In every face,t they were stopped by Kansas City. Ashton Jeanty had just 21 rushing yards. Which wasn’t much less than the 67 yards Smith had on just 10 completions in an ugly 31-0 drubbing.
28. New York Jets (LW: 30)
nfl offense rankings
Joseph Maiorana-Imagn Images
New York Jets head coach Aaron Glen had been challenged by the offense in his debut season. While the offense has a couple of high-impact talents in Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall, new starting QB Justin Fields has been terrible in his first season in New York.
After some awful performances in recent weeks, the Jets’ offense finally had a breakthrough showing on a sad day for the organization. Fields was rock-solid, but the run game was the star of the show as they posted 254 combined yards (133 from Breece Hall). It came at just the right time as their 39 points helped score an upset win over Cincy.
27. Carolina Panthers (LW: 27)
nfl offense rankings
Jim Dedmon-Imagn Images
Last season, Bryce Young showed growth. While he didn’t fill up the stat sheet, he gave Carolina Panthers management reason to believe the former No. 1 overall pick still can be the future of their organization. Unfortunately, he still remains very inconsistent in his third season in the league.
In Week 8, Young was sidelined by an ankle injury. But he likely also would have struggled against the Bills’ defense. With Andy Dalton running the offense, they only managed nine points on Sunday. The biggest frustration was that their strong run game was also slowed down and managed just 114 combined yards in a blowout loss to Buffalo.
26. Arizona Cardinals (LW: 25)
nfl offense rankings

The Arizona Cardinals’ offense had the pieces to be a pretty good unit. The big question was, would everything come together for them in 2025? That will be tough to do after they lost James Conner to a season-ending foot injury early in the year. Plus, Marvin Harrison Jr. hasn’t leaped forward as they have needed in his second season.
With Kyler Murray still sidelined in Week 7, backup Jacoby Brissett put forth another strong performance. Throwing for nearly 300 yards, 2 TDs, and no INTs. Those touchdowns both went to Trey McBride as the TE was a problem for the Packers all day. The unit managed a respectable 23 points on Sunday, but it, sadly, was not enough to get the win.
25. Jacksonville Jaguars (LW: 24)
Jacksonville Jaguars
Gregory Fisher-Imagn Images
The Jacksonville Jaguars’ offense was a major disappointment last season. Even when former No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence was available, they struggled. They’re hoping for a turnaround this year with new head coach Liam Coen and the help of Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter.
After a rough day last week, the slump continued on Sunday in London against the Rams. Lawrence hit on just 23 of his 48 passes and was sacked seven times in an ugly 35-7 loss. The only bright spot was Hunter having the best game of his rookie season by reeling in 101 yards and his first TD through the air.
24. Minnesota Vikings (LW: 22)
nfl offense rankings

The Minnesota Vikings’ offense had high hopes heading into 2025. After Pro Bowler Sam Darnold left in free agency, they gave the keys to the offense to former first-round pick JJ McCarthy. But the youngster has missed much of the season with an ankle injury. Leaving journeyman Carson Wentz to lead the O.
Sunday was another rough day as they got just 144 passing yards from Wentz. It also didn’t help that the run game was completely shut down, and the unit mustered just 34 total yards against the Chargers. If there were any questions about McCarthy retaking his job when he’s ready, they have been dispelled.
23. Miami Dolphins (LW: 26)
nfl offense rankings
Brett Davis-Imagn Images
The Miami Dolphins’ offense disappointed in 2024 after QB Tua Tagovailoa missed much of the first half and top receiver Tyreek Hill showed signs he may be exiting his prime. Things have not gotten any better for much of the season, especially after Hill went down due to a gruesome season-ending leg injury.
After a disastrous day for Tagovailoa last week, he had a badly needed bounce-back game against the Falcons. Hitting on 20 of his 26 passes for 4 TDs and 0 INTs. They also got a solid day from the run game as three different players combined for 141 yards on the ground. It helped toward putting up 34 points in the team’s second win of the season.
22. Atlanta Falcons (LW: 20)
nfl offense rankings
Dale Zanine-Imagn Images
It seemed like the Atlanta Falcons’ offense made the right move in 2024 when they moved on from expensive free agent addition Kirk Cousins to make Michael Penix Jr. their new starting QB. And he showed signs of his potential in limited action. However, he has struggled at times this year and was even benched in Week 3.
On Sunday, the young QB was out due to a knee injury, and in relief was high-priced backup Kirk Cousins. The multi-time Pro Bowler did nothing to create a QB controversy this weekend. While he had no turnovers, he was unspectacular during his 31 passes. However, the oddest part of their sad 10-point showing was giving stud running back Bijan Robinson the ball only nine times. You can’t wonder why they lost with silly decisions like that.
21. New York Giants (LW: 19)
NFL: Los Angeles Chargers at New York Giants
Brad Penner-Imagn Images
The New York Giants’ offense has undergone a notable evolution in 2025. Despite signing former Seahawks star Russell Wilson, he was benched after three games for rookie Jaxson Dart, and the youngster has brought life to the offense. Fellow rookie Cam Skattebo also emerged as a lead back. But he sadly joined star receiver Malik Nabers on the sidelines for the rest of the season after suffering a gruesome dislocated ankle in Week 8.
In Week 8, the offense was alright, but Dart was hounded by the Philly pass rush throughout the day. Skattebo’s awful injury also didn’t help. Without Skattebo and Nabers, Dart’s development will be limited this season.
20. Houston Texans (LW: 23)
nfl offense rankings
Troy Taormina-Imagn Images
Heading into 2025, the Houston Texans hoped young star CJ Stroud and the offense could bounce back from a disappointing showing last year. Early in the season, it started to seem like his breakthrough season may have been an anomaly. However, in recent weeks, he has started to look like the start they saw in 2023 again.
Week 8 was another example of that as he only missed on nine of his 39 passes. He posted 318 yards and 2 TDs during a big 26-15 win over a red-hot 49ers team. The offense also got a solid all-around effort from the run game as they rumbled for 157 yards, and three players had 30 or more yards. It was a victory they needed, and it was led by the offense.
19. Chicago Bears (LW: 18)
nfl offense rankings
USA Today Sports
The Chicago Bears’ offense looked promising early in 2024 but experienced a steady decline for much of last season. It has been the opposite this year. After some early struggles under new head coach Ben Johnson, the Bear O seems to be on an upward swing right now.
Following some big performances in recent weeks, the Chicago offense was derailed a bit in Week 8. The Ravens’ struggling defense held them to 16 points and did not allow Caleb Williams to throw any TDs this weekend. Furthermore, a bad INT late in the game helped set them up for a disappointing loss on Sunday.
18. Washington Commanders (LW: 17)
nfl offense rankings
Bill Streicher-Imagn Images
Top pick and Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels was everything the Washington Commanders’ offense could have hoped for and more in 2024. That is why they have even higher expectations this year. However, dual-threat RB Austin Ekeler’s season-ending injury has been a big blow to the unit, as well as nagging injuries to their QBs’ legs.
Despite their defense getting a pair of INTs from Patrick Mahomes, the Commanders’ offense was not able to make the most of it because backup Marcus Mariota tossed 2 INTS of his own. Furthermore, the rushing attack was held to just 60 total yards in another tough loss on Monday night.
17. Cincinnati Bengals (LW: 21)
nfl offense rankings
Joseph Maiorana-Imagn Images
Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals’ offense were expected to be one of the best units in 2025. However, after Burrow suffered an injury that should sideline him for the rest of the regular season, the unit went to terrible places with backup Jake Browning. It led to a desperate move by trading for journeyman Super Bowl winner Joe Flacco in Week 5.
On Sunday, the greybeard played well enough to win as he threw for 223 yards and a pair of TDs to no INTs. The Bengals also got unexpectedly great days from a pair of journeyman RBs as they helped post 181 rushing yards. Their 38 points should have gotten them a second straight win. Unfortunately, their defense let them down again and gave up 39 to the Jets in a crushing loss.
16. Pittsburgh Steelers (LW: 15)
nfl offense rankings
Michael Longo / For USA Today Network-PA / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images
The Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense is led by another QB well past his prime in 2025. This time, it’s league legend Aaron Rodgers. While they added DK Metcalf, they lost Najee Harris in free agency and traded George Pickens. They aren’t an elite group, but they continue to get the job done and avoid being the weak link most Sundays.
In a Week 8 revenge opportunity for Rodgers against his old team, the Packers, the offense had a solid day and did put up 25 against one of the better defenses in the league. Rodgers threw a pair of TDs this weekend, however, his defense once again let them down, and 25 was still well short in a 35-25 loss on Sunday.
15. San Francisco 49ers (LW: 12)
nfl offense rankings
Darren Yamashita-Imagn Images
The San Francisco 49ers brought back the same unit as 2024, sans Deebo Samuel. But they began the season without WR1 Brandon Aiyuk, and unfortunately, they have dealt with early-season injuries to offensive stars George Kittle and Brock Purdy.
With Purdy out, Christian McCaffrey has carried the offense. On Sunday, the Texans smartly tried to limit him, and the unit struggled. The star running back had 68 total yards this weekend, and unfortunately, the unit was unable to pick up the slack in a 26-15 loss.
14. Denver Broncos (LW: 16)
nfl offense rankings
Ron Chenoy-Imagn Images
Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix showed last season he was well ahead of schedule in leading an underrated unit. The big question this season was if he and the offense could take another step forward. Especially after adding underrated veteran running back, JK Dobbins, this offseason.
Following a wild and historic comeback last week, Denver continued that momentum by dropping 44 on the Cowboys. Nix was very good as hit on 19 of his 19 passes and posting 4 TDs. But the star of the show was the Broncos’ rushing attack that tallied 179 yards and 2 TDs, including 111 from Dobbins.
13. Green Bay Packers (LW: 13)
nfl offense rankings
Junfu Han / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images
More was expected from Jordan Love, Josh Jacobs, and the Green Bay Packers offense in 2024. The expectations remain high this year. Especially with the addition of first-round pick Matthew Golden.
In Week 8, the Packers’ offense had one of its best days of the season. Love was outstanding against Pittsburgh as he tossed a season-best 360 yards and 3 TDs. Tight end Tucker Kraft benefited the most from the hot day as he reeled in 143 yards and 2 of those TDs.
12. Philadelphia Eagles (LW: 14)
nfl offense rankings
Bill Streicher-Imagn Images
The PhiladelphiaEagles’ adding Saquon Barkley last year proved to be a paradigm shift moment in the NFC as the former Giants star delivered an MVP-caliber season. Unfortunately, the magic has disappeared on offense as Philly tries to defend their throne.
The day Philly fans have been waiting all season for finally came on Sunday as Barkley exploded against his former team, rumbling for 150 yards against the Giants. However, the Eagles also got another 104 yards from backup RB Tank Bigsby. The offense posted 276 yards on the ground in a smashing win over New York.
11. Baltimore Ravens (LW: 10)
nfl offense rankings
Geoff Burke-Imagn Images
The Baltimore Ravens‘ offense was one of the league’s elites last season. They delivered a balanced attack led by superstar Lamar Jackson and backed by future Hall-of-Fame running back Derrick Henry. While they were again fantastic to start the year, the injury bug has led to some tough days for the unit in recent weeks.
After a pair of tough weeks, the Ravens offense ran their way to a big win on Sunday. While they only passed for 178 yards, they ran for 177 and 2 TDs, including from backup QB Tyler Huntley. It was the sort of effort they badly needed to hold the line to get a W and hold the line until Jackson is back this weekend.
10. Los Angeles Chargers (LW: 11)
nfl offense rankings
Troy Taormina-Imagn Images
With Jim Harbaugh as head coach, the Los Angeles Chargers‘ offense has tried to rely less on the arm of gifted quarterback Justin Herbert for a more balanced attack each week. However, after losing Najee Harris for the season and dealing with injuries to first-rounder Omarion Hampton, the LA offense has been forced to adjust in recent weeks.
Well, on Thursday, they overcame the injuries in the backfield and dominated on the ground to the tune of 207 rushing yards. Sixty-two of them came from Herbert. He also chipped in with 227 passing yards and three TDS in their win over the Vikings.
9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (LW: 8)
nfl offense rankings
Nathan Ray Seebeck-Imagn Images
Baker Mayfield’s career renaissance with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been one of the best stories in football over the last two years. However, running back Bucky Irving has added balance to the offense last season, and it is part of why this unit is one of the best in the game.
After a tough day last week, the Bucs offense played a bit better in Week 8. While it wasn’t pretty, Tampa put up 23 points and made the most of three turnovers by the Saints this weekend. However, the absence of stud running back Bucky Irving is becoming more apparent each week.
8. Seattle Seahawks (LW: 7)
nfl offense rankings
Steven Bisig-Imagn Images
The Seattle Seahawks’ offense was a solid group in 2024. The unit has been even better this year by switching from Geno Smith to Sam Darnold at QB. Plus, stud receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is proving each week why he is a legit and dangerous WR1 in the NFL.
The dynamic combo of Darnold and JSN delivered again on Sunday. In their 27-19 win over the Texans, the WR ended up reeling in 123 of the 213 yards Darnold had this weekend. They also got a nice run game by committee performance in the win, as they posted 118 yards and 2 TDs combined.
7. New England Patriots (LW: 9)
nfl offense rankings
David Butler II-Imagn Images
Rookie Drake Maye wasn’t the problem with the New England Patriots’ offense in 2024. Now, with some better pieces around him and Mike Vrabel in charge as head coach, the unit has evolved into one of the most underrated and efficient offenses in the league.
The unit continued to hum along on Sunday as they put up 32 in a dominant win against the Browns. Outside of a rare INT, Maye was outstanding again, but he was helped by a big day on the ground as the Pats offense rushed for 177 yards as a team, 50 of those came from Maye. This group has the ability to get even better.
6. Kansas City Chiefs (LW: 6)
nfl offense rankings
Kevin R. Wexler-NorthJersey.com / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images
There were signs that the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense’s best days were behind it. They were not as formidable in 2024, as their receivers were less impactful, and Travis Kelce seemed to be in a big career decline. However, they kept suggesting that if they could get healthy this year, they could be great again. They weren’t lying.
After a big day last week, the Chiefs’ offense was still quite good on Monday night, but it did have some stumbles against the Commanders. Specifically, 2 INTs from Patrick Mahomes. Luckily, a Washington team without Jayden Daniels was not able to take advantage of the turnovers, and KC easily won by a score of 28-7. They also got another nice team effort from the run game (148 total yards).
5. Los Angeles Rams (LW: 5)
nfl offense rankings
Bill Streicher-Imagn Images
If Matthew Stafford’s back doesn’t end his season early, the Los Angeles Rams offense can be one of the best units in the NFL again because of the strong skill players they have in Puca Nacua, Davante Adams, and Kyren Williams.
After an off game last week, the Rams’ offense was much better in Week 7 as they posted 35 against the Jaguars in another win. While the yards numbers were spectacular, LA was outstanding in the red zone. Stafford had 5 TDs on the day, and Adams pulled in a season high 3 of them.
4. Dallas Cowboys (LW: 4)
nfl offense rankings
Ron Chenoy-Imagn Images
Last season was a wash for the Dallas Cowboys‘ offense after Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending injury in Week 10. However, with him back healthy and big-play threat George Pickens joining the unit, they have become a unit to worry about in 2025.
Unfortunately, the Dallas offense faced an elite defense on Sunday and was not nearly as effective as in weeks past. The biggest story was Denver’s defense holding MVP candidate Dak Prescott to just 188 yards, 0 TDs, and 2 big INTs in their 44-24 drubbing in Week 8.
3. Buffalo Bills (LW: 3)
nfl offense rankings
Robert Deutsch / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images
Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills‘ offense were one of the best in the league all of last season by using a total team effort, smart play, and a balanced attack. It is why the QB won his first MVP award. All of the pieces from last season are back this year, including talented running back James Cook.
On Sunday, their stud RB led the way and dominated the Panthers. Cook rumbled for a career-best 216 yards and spearheaded a 40-point day from the offense. Allen chipped in with three TDs, two of them on the ground. It was further proof that this version of the Bills offense is at its best as a run-first unit.
2. Detroit Lions (LW: 1)
nfl offense rankings
Junfu Han / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images
The Detroit Lions’ offense was the cream of the crop for much of last season. They could throw over teams but also bludgeon them with a solid run game. However, many wondered if they could maintain that elite play without former OC Ben Johnson. They have and then some in 2025.
After being held to 17 points last week, the Lions regained momentum in Week 7 by posting 24 points against the Buccaneers. They were led by an outstanding performance from Jahmyr Gibbs as he tallied 136 yards and 2 TDs on just carries on Monday. The Detroit offense can win in a variety of ways each week.
1. Indianapolis Colts (LW: 2)
nfl offense rankings
Michelle Pemberton/IndyStar / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn ImagesCredit: USA Today Sports
Daniel Jones beating out Anthony Richardson for the Indianapolis Colts’ starting QB job in the summer created hope that the unit could be better in 2025. However, no one expected the offense to be anywhere close to what they have turned into this season.
The juggernaut that is the Colts offense chugged along again in Week 8 as they dropped 38 on a lowly Titans team. Jones continued to build his case for MVP votes with 272 passing yards and 3 more TDs to no INTs, and Jonathan Taylor was amazing again as he tallied 153 yards on just 12 carries. The Indy offense has been unstoppable this season.
