The Kansas City Chiefs put up a dominant display on Monday Night Football (October 28), taking down the Washington Commanders 28-7 at Arrowhead Stadium.
Patrick Mahomes was key in delivering the goods once more for the Chiefs, as he threw for 299 passing yards and three touchdowns, helping Andy Reid's men move to 5-3 for the 2025 season.

All three successful passes into the endzone from the 2x MVP came in successive second-half drives.
Mahomes utilised his main offensive assets on those scoring drives, with Kareem Hunt, Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice all recording receiving touchdowns.
What made the 30-year-old's latest outing so impressive was the poor start he had to overcome in Monday's game.
Mahomes threw inceptions in his first two drives, as Marshon Lattimore picked off the Chiefs star in the redzone, before Kelce failed to control a pass from his quarterback and deflected the ball right into Bobby Wagner's hands.

Mahomes' strong response to a poor start against Washington was admirable and somewhat mirrors the story of his team's season so far.
The Chiefs began the year 0-2 after defeats to the Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles, before slipping to 2-3 after the Jacksonville Jaguars rallied late on in the Week 5 contest between the teams.
Since losing to the Jaguars, the Chiefs have strung together three straight wins, beating the Detroit Lions and Las Vegas Raiders prior to overcoming the Commanders.
"I think we're getting better and better each and every week," Mahomes stated post-game.
"Even though we didn't start the way we wanted to today offensively, it showed that we can battle through adversity and still continue to play the brand of football that we want to play."
"I was proud of how the guys responded in that second half," he added.

The Chiefs star quarterback also credited the team's head coach for keeping the players assured in crucial stages.
"Coach Reid believes in us to make those big plays in big moments. Another thing that gets lost is he believes our defence is gonna get the stop if it doesn't happen. So, you've got to have a belief in everybody."
Next up for Mahomes and his teammates is a trip to take on the Buffalo Bills in Week 9, in what will be a rematch of last season's AFC Championship game which saw the Chiefs come out on top.
