Alan Myers makes exciting prediction about what David Moyes could do at Everton

Alan Myers reckons Everton manager David Moyes could achieve something really special with the right changes around Finch Farm.

It’s been a disappointing start to the season for Everton, as they currently reside in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

The Toffees suffered a 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on the weekend, making it just one win from seven.

Tim Sherwood pointed out that Beto and Thierno Barry are holding Everton back at the moment, as they’re just not clinical enough.

But, despite all that, Alan Myers still believes Moyes can guide Everton to a trophy.

Alan Myers thinks Everton could win the FA Cup

Speaking on the Beyond The Back Four YouTube channel, Myers suggested that Everton could win the FA Cup under Moyes if he sets the right culture around the training ground.

“I have confidence in Moyes being successful but it’s difficult,” the journalist explained.

“When he came back, what he brings is honesty. Whether you like it or not he’ll tell you what he thinks but he’ll always be fair.

Myers continued: “If culture is right at the club, he can achieve anything like Wimbledon and Wigan winning FA Cup. There’s a standard for everyone at training ground – not being a bully, a standard he expects.

“Changing managers didn’t help Everton and then you get opportunists who come in who aren’t the right fit. No the club are in good hands with Moyes.”

Jordan Pickford said David Moyes is setting a winning culture

Speaking to Everton’s website earlier this year, Jordan Pickford said Moyes is driving a winning culture around Finch Farm.

“The gaffer set the standards high and we demand that from each other ourselves,” the England international explained.

“On the training pitch, you want to win every day in training and the manager drives that. Then it’s about us driving ourselves on as well. It filters through the team, that’s what we want.”

James Tarkowski said something similar in September: “As a group, the manager set his stall out. He wants us right at the top half of the table and pushing up there.

“He showed us what we need to do to do that, the amount of goals we need, the amount of points we need. So he set his stall out and now it’s up to us to go out there and do it over the season.”
