Jerry Jones’ Dallas Cowboys have been a recurrent topic even before the 2025 NFL season started. The Micah Parsons contract extension and trade saga turned a lot of heads, but the team isn’t done making noise with potential moves on the market.
The Cowboys reportedly inquired about Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby and Cincinnati Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson last week, but the two teams rejected Dallas’ approaches. Jones discussed the team’s plans and whether they are close to landing one of these players.

Jones remained hermetic about the team’s plans, but let the door open for a potential move not only for Crosby or Hendrickson.
“There hasn’t been anything close to a deal. We’re looking at all phases of our roster. … I don’t know if we will or not (make a trade),” he said on 105.3 The Fan, per Jon Machota.

Talking about the team’s plans to improve the roster, Jones said they have all the options on the table.
“I can tell you this right now, there is not a trade in my mind, the beginning and end of one, as we sit here and talk … that I would do,” he added.

After losing one of the best pass rushers in the league, Jones seemingly aims high and wants to land another star to bring more attention to the Cowboys. Dallas has been mentioned in multiple trade and free agency rumors in recent years and they have never brought a star to elevate their game.
The trade deadline is exactly a week away, and Jones’ words don’t seem to be very promising. The Raiders and Bengals value their pass rusher, and they won’t part ways with them anytime soon.
