After sitting out Monday's win over the Orlando Magic, Joel Embiid is not listed on the Sixers' injury report for Tuesday night's road game against the Washington Wizards, issued on Tuesday afternoon. Tony Jones of The Athletic reported minutes earlier that Trendon Watford will make his Sixers debut in the nation's capital, and the power forward was indeed not listed on the report either:
Meanwhile, as expected, Dominick Barlow, Paul George and Jared McCain all remain out. Barlow started at power forward in each of the Sixers' first two games, but on Monday he underwent a procedure to address a laceration he suffered in Saturday's home opener. He will be reevaluated later this week; it does not appear his absence will be a long-term one. His minutes could be filled by Watford, who plays the same position in a very different way:
McCain recently made important progress in his recovery from a torn UCL in his right thumb, getting his restrictive brace removed and replacing it with one that enables him to shoot normally. He still has plenty of work ahead of him and will likely return later than George, but just took the first big step in his recovery.
THE SIXERS ARE 3-0
• Maxey, Edgecombe beat Celtics on opening night
• Comeback win over Hornets in home opener
• Without Embiid, Sixers go wire-to-wire vs. Magic
