The Cincinnati Bengals got off to an impressive 2-0 start to the season, after acknowledging all offseason that they needed to avoid another one of the slow starts to the season that have plagued them in recent campaigns.
Unfortunately, star quarterback Joe Burrow went down with a turf toe injury in Week Two that was optimistically supposed to keep him out for at least three months. The Bengals have struggled immensely in Burrow’s absence, going 1-5 with Jake Browning and Joe Flacco each getting three games as the starting quarterback.
However, it appears that Burrow’s rehab is going well, according to one prominent team insider, which could mean a return is on the horizon if the Bengals can stay afloat long enough to make the playofffs.
“Joe Burrow has progressed to no walking boot. Strolls through locker room in normal athletic running shoes,” [reported Mike Petraglia.](https://x.com/Trags/status/1982872027288719650)
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“If Joe B comes back it will be a mini repeat of 2024 where he stacked up big numbers but the team would lose by 1-3 points,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Don’t rush him back it’s a wash this season. Maybe next year,” another fan added.
“Zero reason for JoeyB to come back this year and have to score 50pts a game and take a beating doing it,” someone else added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Cincinnati can buy Burrow enough time to make a return to the field this season.
