Jordan Love Given Top Grade For Week 8 Performance

The Green Bay Packers knew that their Week 8 meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers wasn’t just another game.

They were on the road facing Aaron Rodgers, one of the greatest players in Green Bay history.

Fortunately, his successor was more than up for the task.

Jordan Love had one of the best games of his NFL career, outplaying his former teammate.

That’s why Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report gave Love an A+ grade on his quarterback report card.

“Jordan Love flirted with perfection Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He did so in the Steel City, which made the performance even more impressive. Love completed 20 straight passes during the contest. According to NFL Next Gen Stats, he had a 1 percent chance of doing so considering the difficulty of the intended passes. [The] Steelers tried to be aggressive, and Love shredded the secondary. It’s an even sweeter performance upon doing so with his former Packers mentor, Aaron Rodgers, as the other team’s starting quarterback,” Sobleski wrote.

Love had 360 passing yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions.

He spread the wealth all over the offense, kept everybody involved, and continued to make throws to keep the chains moving.

The Packers got another elite weapon for the passing game with Christian Watson’s season debut, and they didn’t ease the wide receiver into the action.

His chemistry with Love was evident, and he should boost this explosive offense for the remainder of the season.

Love’s arm talent isn’t a surprise, but he’s been much more mature, poised and calm in the pocket this season.

He’s not going for a big play on every dropback, and he’s taking care of the ball.

He’s become a legitimate NFL MVP candidate, an award Rodgers won four times with the Packers.
