Leeds United are increasingly getting linked with strikers ahead of the winter transfer window, as it is clear that they lack a clinical goalscorer upfront, which has already cost them points in the Premier League this season.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin joined the club on a free transfer in the summer, but has scored just once thus far. He has been guilty of missing chances, which have already proven costly for the team.

Leeds need a more efficient finisher in the penalty box, but they are unlikely to have the funds to procure the kind of proven goalscorer they need in the winter transfer window.
Ivan Toney may be too expensive for Leeds due to his wage demands, but Leeds are said to be looking at several strikers, and Josh Sargent has a big admirer at Elland Road in the form of Daniel Farke.
Leeds are still interested in Norwich City striker Josh Sargent
Josh Sargent was heavily linked with a move to Leeds over the summer transfer window. However, the striker stayed put at Norwich City to aid their promotion bid in the Championship.
He started the season on fire, scoring five goals in the opening four league games, but he has not scored since then, and Norwich’s form has also tailed off, losing six of their last eight games.
However, his form has done little to dampen interest in him, and according to reports, Sargent remains a player of interest for Leeds ahead of the winter window.
Leeds are prioritising signing an attacking midfielder and winger, but a striker could soon become one of their biggest goals in the winter window.
Sargent is a player who has been on Leeds’ radar for more than the last two years, and the Whites could finally try to sign him in the January transfer window.
Daniel Farke is a huge Sargent supporter
Sargent has been heavily linked with a move to Leeds since Farke became the manager at Elland Road, and it is no surprise.
The German coach managed the forward at Norwich, and the American played some of his best football under the current Leeds boss, even playing in the Premier League.
His poor Premier League record hasn’t changed Farke’s opinion of him, with the Leeds boss having admired him for a couple of years.
Sargent is also desperate to get back to playing in the top flight, and Leeds could provide him a route back to the Premier League in the winter window.
Farke believes Sargent has the physicality to play at the top level and is a better player than he was when the American last featured in the Premier League.
The American has some real traits that could suit Leeds, and is more of a finisher than Calvert-Lewin. However, it is unclear whether he can translate that to the top flight.
He could be a good option if Farke wants to rest Calvert-Lewin. But there is nothing in his underlying numbers that says he can be the goalscorer that Leeds are crying for.
Leeds fans would be underwhelmed if Sargent arrives at Elland Road in January, but it would definitely have Farke’s stamp on it.
