Eddie Howe discusses team news for Tottenham tie

Eddie Howe talked about team news for Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup against Tottenham.

Yoane Wissa (knee), Lewis Hall (hamstring), and Tino Livramento (knee) are out of action, and Sven Botman came off the field with a head injury in a 2-1 win over **Fulham**on the weekend.

Other cases of rotation could occur as Howe balances minute management with competitiveness.

“There was no concussion. It was a cut, quite a nasty looking cut for Sven. I think he had it stapled together. So, he didn't train yesterday, so we'll see how he is today.

*“Lewis is the closest. This game will come too quickly for him. We'll see how he is for West Ham.*

“Tino is still on track. I think the two week international break sort of dictates that he won't be able to bring that forward by two weeks. I think we're looking at the Man City game for him as a pencilled in date for hopefully that he can be available for. But he's doing well. He feels really good. There's no adverse reaction to his injury. So, positive signs for Tino and for Lewis and for Yoane at the minute.

“Yoane is in a different boat to the other two. He's coming from further back fitness wise. He's been out longer. Lewis's return will be quite touchwood will be quite quick, you know, in the sense that he's once he's fit and available, he'll be back involved with the group. Same with Tino really.

“It's an important decision that I've got coming up for this game because we want to of course we want to progress. Competition means a lot to us current holders. So we don't want to give that up easily. But I have to trust the squad as well and we got some very good players that need football.

“They need an opportunity to show their talents and what they can bring the squad. So, I think there'll be an element of that, but I've got to try and get the balance right.”
