Opinion: The three Everton youngsters closest to making their debut including jet-heeled…

Everton have three exciting youngsters on their books who aren’t too far from making their first-team debut.

Finch Farm has produced a number of talented players over the years, with Jarrad Branthwaite a shining example at the moment.

Branthwaite polished his skillset with the under-21s after a £1m move from Carlisle United in 2020, and is now widely regarded as one of the best defenders in the Premier League.

Harrison Armstrong looks like one of the next success stories from the academy, although he’s currently continuing his development on loan at Preston North End.

There are three other players from Everton’s academy set-up who could be in line to make their debut before long.

Isaac Heath (winger)

Isaac Heath really caught the eye in pre-season, so David Moyes felt it was best for him to go out and play senior football rather than with the under-21s.

Heath has enjoyed a great start to life at Accrington Stanley, registering five goal involvements in eight outings.

Accrington manager John Doolan labelled the Toffees loanee ‘unplayable’ earlier this month.

“Isaac Heath was unplayable today, and he’s creating chances and he’s giving lads opportunities to put the ball in the back of the net, and we haven’t taken them today,” Doolan said after Barnet.

With the way he’s progressing, the 20-year-old is on the right path to carving out a career on Merseyside.

Isaac Heath has hit the ground running in his loan spell at @ASFCofficial with three goal involvements in his first seven games.

Braiden Graham (striker)

Braiden Graham has been prolific for the under-21s and 18s, so naturally, considering Thierno Barry and Beto’s lack of form, Moyes will be keeping a close eye.

In fact, Moyes has been informed that Graham is a ‘very good finisher’, so the Everton boss is well aware of his talent.

The 17-year-old could get his chance in the FA Cup in January, and by that time, he would’ve celebrated his 18th birthday.

Graham’s former manager is certain he will lead the line for Northern Ireland one day.

Justin Clarke (winger)

Everton fans were left blown away by Justin Clarke in pre-season, with some even suggesting he’s ready for the first team.

Clarke, who arrived as a 16-year-old from Wimbledon in 2024, has already netted three goals whilst laying on two assists for the reserves this term.

The jet-heeled teenager can operate off both flanks and as a striker, so that versatility will lend itself well to the first-team set-up.

As evinced by the finish below, Clarke is a powerful and direct attacker who can bring something different to the options Moyes currently has.

Moyes should seriously consider naming him on the bench against Sunderland on Monday evening.
