Leeds United’s relegation rivals Wolves continue to struggle as they lose at home to Burnley
The side currently looking most likely for the drop is one of the three sides Leeds have beaten this season in Wolves.
Vitor Pereira turned the club’s fortunes around last season when facing similar struggles, helping them to a remarkable 17-point gap to the relegation zone. Pereira came in with Wolves in an identical position to the one they’re in now – two points from nine games.

Their latest result is perhaps the most damning yet, clawing their way back from two goals down at home to Burnley, only for Lyle Foster to snatch a last-minute winner and sink Wolves further into the mire.
Molineux’s discontent was there to see post-match. Pereira and star striker Jorgen Strand Larsen had to front up plenty of justified fan anger at full-time. It was a sign of how bad things have become.
Double Wolves update could be huge survival boost for Leeds United
The latest from Molineux is a double update both on the ownership front and Pereira’s position as manager.
Pereira interestingly penned a contract extension off the back of four straight losses to start the season. Shortly after, Wolves were comfortably beaten 3-1 by Leeds at home.
Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas reports that Pereira’s position is safe as things stand, despite being winless in nine. For Leeds watching on, a rival manager struggling to get a tune can only be a good thing. Damaging defeats to all three promoted sides would have most managers facing the sack.
Wolves fans have also been looking for takeover updates. John Textor’s reported £400million bid to buy the club from chairman Jeff Shi and Fosun International emerged this week. However, Sky’s update shares that Wolves are not looking to sell at the moment.

The toxicity at Molineux could be set to continue with no sign of a manager switch. A change in ownership could give them a new lease of life, but that looks unlikely too.
As things stand, Leeds and their rivals will be looking at Wolves’ problems hoping that’s one team that could be doomed for the Championship.
