Through four games, the Boston Celtics are 1-3.
The main problem for them has been rebounding due to their lack of experienced centers.
As of right now, it seems the team is looking to remain competitive with the hopes that Jayson Tatum will return later this season.
If that is the case, they will need to improve their center rotation, and Andy Bailey of Bleach Report suggests one guy who could help.
“The higher-ceiling version of that move would be (Anfernee) Simons for Myles Turner, but that would require a blow-it-up scenario for the Bucks,” Bailey said Tuesday.
“If they get to the point where trading Giannis is in play, they might also want to get out from under Turner's contract. Simons' expiring deal could be enticing.”
Myles Turner is listed as the Celtics' dream trade target, and for good reason.
Turner is the prototypical center in today’s league, with great rim protection instincts and the ability to stretch the floor better than maybe any center ever.
Anfernee Simons has come off the bench each game for the Celtics but still proved to be a valuable asset.
If the Milwaukee Bucks get to the point where they decide to blow it up, Simon's expiring contract could entice them.
Although Turner just signed with the Bucks this offseason and they have started the season 2-1, the roster doesn’t look as complete as he had hoped.
Through four games, the Celtics have had a center rotation of Xavier Tillman, Neemias Queta, Chris Boucher, and Luka Garza.
Not exactly championship quality.
If they were somehow able to attach a pick alongside Simons to get Turner, it could change the whole direction of the team.
Turner is a 14-point-per-game scorer for his career with an impressive 36 percent from three for a seven-footer.
He would fit right into Joe Mazzulla and the Celtics' play style.
