Juventus plot €50 million raid on Chelsea for 2003-born wide man

Italian giants Juventus are ready to fork out €50 million to sign Chelsea defensive sensation Malo Gusto.

Juventus haven’t been at their best in recent years, and in order to return to their glory days, the Old Lady are looking to make the necessary changes to their squad. They have already started planning for the next summer window, and signing a new right-back seems to be one of their top priorities.

According to a report from Fichajes, the Old Lady are keen on acquiring the services of Malo Gusto and to get a deal over the line, they could table a €50 million offer to strike a deal with Chelsea. Despite his prominence in the team, the Blues are ready to listen to offers because of their financial situation.

Gusto came up the ranks at Olympique Lyon and made a name for himself while playing for their first team before joining Chelsea at the start of 2023. He stayed at the French club for the next six months before finally making the move to Stamford Bridge in the following summer.

He has only gone from strength to strength since joining the London club. The 22-year-old has been involved in 95 matches and he has bagged 14 assists. While he remains an integral part of their plans under Enzo Maresca and his contract runs until the summer of 2030, there are still question marks over his long-term future.

Gusto could leave Chelsea next summer

His impressive performances have attracted a lot of interest, and Chelsea, for their part, are considering cashing in on him to ease some financial pressure. His departure will not only help trim the squad but also reduce their wage bill.

With the London club ready to listen to offers, Juventus are looking to make the most out of this situation. The Old Lady seek more quality on the right flank and consider Gusto a perfect fit for their project. They want a young full-back who can contribute on both ends of the pitch, and the 22-year-old can certainly help their cause.

Juventus are considering submitting a formal offer in the next months. They could table close to €50 million to strike a deal with Chelsea ahead of next season. They could either look for a loan move with a buy option or push for a permanent deal straightaway.
