West Ham could suffer at the hands of Leeds United once again this season.

Leeds secured a 2-1 win over West Ham in the Premier League last time out as Nuno Espirito Santo’ side struggled.

The Hammers only got on the scoresheet through a late Mateus Fernandes consolation, despite the best efforts of Jarrod Bowen against Leeds.

Nuno has since been slammed at West Ham after what was another shoddy performance in his fourth match in charge of the London Stadium club.

The Whites could now land yet another blow on the claret and blue outfit as links to Gonzalo Garcia continue to build ahead of the January window.

West Ham want Gonzalo Garcia from Real Madrid

West Ham had emerged as a frontrunner to sign Garcia, with a loan deal appearing to be on the cards at the Bernabeu.

The 21-year-old has suffered from a lack of gametime with Los Blancos this season, following a terrific Club World Cup campaign.

The youngster made it into the Team of the Tournament and was awarded the Golden Boot after netting four across just six matches.

It is little surprise that a move away from the Spanish capital is now on the cards with just 96 LaLiga minutes under his belt this season.

The Hammers were said to be leading the way for his signature in what could have been the perfect signing after such a poor start to the season.

Leeds now look to have jumped Nuno’s men in the queue to sign Garcia as they look to get one over West Ham once again.

Leeds could beat West Ham to Garcia signing

The Irons are in desperate need of new forward options as Callum Wilson and Niclas Fullkrug have failed to make an impact this season.

The Real Madrid talent could become a true asset in E20, thanks to his combination of physicality and youthful exuberance up front.

On The Minute reported on 26 October that Leeds United are now monitoring Garcia and have signalled their intent to compete for top young talent in Europe.

Daniel Farke’s side sees him as a player for the present and the future and is exploring a move ahead of the January window.

Aston Villa are now said to be the frontrunner with a £17.5million bid being prepared at Villa Park ahead of the winter.

Should Leeds beat West Ham to his signing, there is no getting away from the humiliation that this would cause at the London Stadium.
