Tottenham Hotspur sensation Luka Vuskovic has hinted at an admiration for Real Madrid.
Tottenham loanee Luka Vuskovic is plying his trade for Bundesliga club HSV Hamburger for the 2025/26 campaign.
In a recent interview, he admitted himself that his dreams stretch beyond North London. When asked about one club that he wanted to represent from childhood, he paused and said (speaking with Sport Klub as relayed by Sport Witness):
“Well … Real Madrid is Real Madrid.”
But now this is the kind of ambition that is needed to succeed and make his way to the very top. While many would think that he is disregarding Tottenham with that interview, it’s the other way around instead. He is showing the kind of ambition that Tottenham signed him for.

I think taking this up in context is kind of important here. He is a long-term prospect for Tottenham. And this current loan to Hamburg isn’t a detour, but it is a developmental step. And given that he doesn’t want to sit behind the likes of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, he opted for minutes over just donning that Lilywhites crest for the sake of it this season.
So when Vuskovic speaks of Real Madrid, it may sound ambitious to many, but it is also authentic. It also informs you of what motivates him. And that is why Spurs allowed him to go on loan instead of throwing him in at the deep end. Because Tottenham are not making a team just for today, Vinai is constructing one for years to come. And Vuskovic is part of the narrative.
Vuskovic is a massive talent. We all know that. And these aspirations are only good for Tottenham. At such a budding age, he needs these to inspire into his potential. And while we did have glimpses of the player he can be in the pre-season, it is only a start. There is so much to come from Luka Vuskovic.
For now, the people behind the scenes need to ensure that his development stays on the right track and he comes back as a better player at Hotspur Way next season.
