The Miami Dolphins are in the midst of a disastrous season.
On paper, Miami’s roster was as talented as any in the league entering the season. Despite no shortage of talent, the Dolphins have not found success on the field. The team sits at 2-6.
It’s hard to imagine things getting worse for Miami, but now they are catching strays from Buffalo Bills running back James Cook.
Cook, appearing on Underdog’s The Arena: Gridiron podcast, was asked a question to see how well he knows his career.
One of the hosts of the show, Kinsey Wolanski, asked Cook to name the team that he rushed for 100-plus yards against for the first time in his NFL career.
Cook, unsure of the answer, asked for a hint.
“Um, this team is trash,” Wolanski said.
With that hint in mind, Cook was quick to guess the Dolphins to the delight of co-host Aqib Talib.
Ouch.
Perhaps Cook had his most recent performance against the Dolphins in his mind. In September, Cook rushed for 108 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries (5.7 YPC). Oddly enough, that was the only performance in Cook’s career where he rushed for over 100 yards against Miami.
Miami has actually done a good job of keeping Cook in check in his career. Cook has rushed for 44 yards or less in five of seven games against the Dolphins.
Cook was able to guess the Las Vegas Raiders correctly after Wolanski added that the team played out west.
