Knicks vs. Bucks: The matchup

The Knicks are off to a 2-1 start with key early victories over the Cleveland Cavaliers (119-111) and Boston Celtics (105-95), but now have a point to prove after dropping their first road contest of the season, 115-107, to the Miami Heat on Sunday night. While guard Jalen Brunson had a huge night with 37 points and seven assists on 14-of-26 from the floor, the Knicks offense at large struggled, hitting just 38.8% from the floor. A large portion of those misses came from the New York bench, which got outscored by the Heat’s reserves, 44-21, and made just 1-of-18 from 3-point range.

The Bucks return to Milwaukee after a weekend road trip, where they beat the Toronto Raptors (122-116) on Friday and fell to the Cleveland Cavaliers (118-113) on Sunday for their first loss of the season. Antetokounmpo has performed his role to near-perfect as a one-man wrecking crew who has led Milwaukee in scoring, rebounds and assists in all three games thus far. The star forward is averaging 36.0-16.0-7.0 in the early portion of the season and comes off a near triple-double in the loss to the Cavaliers, going for 40 points, 14 boards and nine rebounds in 33 minutes.
