Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler has been speaking ahead of his side’s Carabao Cup clash with Arsenal.
Arsenal are back in action on Wednesday night when they face Brighton at home in the Carabao Cup fourth round. The Gunners will be eyeing a quarter-final spot and to continue their excellent run that has seen them storm to the top of the Premier League and with a four-point lead.
Brighton are always tricky customers, and while they are just below mid-table in the Premier League after their defeat to Manchester United over the weekend, the Seagulls will arrive at the Emirates Stadium full of belief that they can progress to the next round, even against the league leaders.
The Seagulls won’t be helped, however, but the absence of senior star James Milner, who has been confirmed as absent with what is described as a ‘minor muscle injury’. Elsewhere, Kaoru Mitoma, Brajan Gruda, Jack Hinshelwood and Joel Veltman remain out as expected here.
Speaking about the clash with Arsenal, Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler said: "When you look at the league table, it tells the truth - they are doing well. They are very good out of possession, very good with set pieces. I think these are two main factors. What makes them so successful? They are very disciplined, everyone attacks the box, everyone defends the box. So it will be a big challenge, especially in terms of dealing with those set pieces."
Asked about the youth of his squad and the performances his young players are putting in. "We see in training that they're adapting quite well and now they are starting to show it in games as well,” said the Seagulls boss. “We can't expect magical things from them all the time. They need to be given the environment where they can improve and I see they're doing that well at the moment. We also have the belief and the trust that they can do it against big teams."
Brighton and Arsenal are yet to play this season, due to play in December, but the Seagulls have won their only trip to London so far this season, defeating Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge.
