Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur - Eddie Howe pre-match press conference review
Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has issued an injury update on Tino Livramento.
Eddie Howe has played down hopes of Tino Livramento returning from injury quicker than expected.
A knee injury saw Livramento stretchered off during Newcastle United’s 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at St James’ Park a month ago.
At Southampton, the 22-year-old sustained an ACL injury that kept him sidelined for a year. That immediately sparked fears that he suffered a repeat of the injury.

But further assessment confirmed far more positive news, with Livramento expected to be back on the pitch at the end of November.
“Tino, we think, will be at roughly around six to eight weeks,” Howe said previously.
“Which is probably positive from where we were after the game, thinking it might be months. So yeah, we're probably looking, not this international break, but maybe the next one he could be back. So certainly more positive, yeah, than we initially feared.”
Tino Livramento has already teased Newcastle United return
Despite still being around three-and-a-half weeks away from returning, Livramento has already taken to social media to tease his comeback.
Livramento recently uploaded a photo to Instagram of himself in action for Newcastle along with a sand-timer emoji and this week has been pictured back on the grass at the club’s Benton training ground.
This prompted NewcastleWorld to ask if the former Chelsea full-back could return ahead of schedule, but Howe confirmed the timeframe remained the same.

That should put Livramento in contention to face Manchester City on Saturday, November 22, which is the first match after the November international break.
“I'd say he's still on track,” said Howe. “I think the two-week international break dictates that he won't be able to bring that forward by two weeks.
“I think we're looking at the Manchester City game for him as a pencilled-in date for hopefully that he can be available for. But he's doing well. He feels really good.
“There's no adverse reaction to his injury, so, positive signs for Tino and for Lewis and for Yoane. At the minute, they're all on track for their respective returns.”
Lewis Hall ‘closest’ to Newcastle United return
Newcastle are also currently without Lewis Hall, which has seen Dan Burn moved from centre-back to left-back. In terms of recognised full-backs, only Kieran Trippier and Emil Krafth are fit and available.
Hall will miss tonight’s Carabao Cup fourth round clash at home to Tottenham Hotspur but is in line to return for the visit to West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday.
Meanwhile, £55million summer signing Yoane Wissa is also nearing a return, though Howe wouldn’t be drawn on a specific match.
“It's very difficult for me to give a game for you,” said Howe. “Yoane’s in a different boat to the other two because he's coming from further back fitness-wise. He's been out longer.
“Lewis's return will be quite quick, in the sense that once he's fit and available, he'll be back involved with the group. Same with Tino, really. Yoane, he's still on track but we need to make sure that he's gone through a mini pre-season with us as well.”
