In football, nothing is more damaging to a club’s success than an injury crisis. There are plenty of top players who are currently out of action in the Premier League – but which teams have the most injuries?
Today, we’ll look at each team in the Premier League and determine which of the 20 are currently enduring the worst luck with injuries. We won’t just be taking into account the number of injuries – we’ll also examine how many key players for each outfit are on the treatment table.
We won’t be including injury doubts in this list – we will only be looking at confirmed absentees (at the time of writing).
Brighton
Players injured: Adam Webster, Solly March, Jack Hinshelwood, Brajan Gruda
Brighton currently have four players who are out injured. Perhaps their most notable absentee is Jack Hinshelwood, who has been excellent for the Seagulls since his graduation to the first team.
Additionally, the other three are big misses. Adam Webster is a solid centre-half, while Brajan Gruda and Solly March both bring creativity and dynamism to their attack.
Liverpool
Players injured: Alisson, Jeremie Frimpong, Alexander Isak, Giovanni Leoni
Liverpool have been undergoing a dip in form recently. This has not been helped by their injury list, which has hampered top stars such as Alisson and Alexander Isak.
Isak, in particular, has not looked himself this season. He has been very disappointing since his arrival from Newcastle United, but his slow start is more understandable if he has been carrying injuries.
Sunderland
Players injured: Habib Diarra, Leo Fuhr Hjelde, Romaine Mundle, Dennis Cirkin, Aji Alese, Omar Alderete
Sunderland currently have five players who are unavailable for selection due to injuries. In particular, star summer signing Habib Diarra is out until mid-December with a groin problem.
This has been a massive blow to the Black Cats, but they are still performing well above expectations at this point. Losing top defender Omar Alderete could also be significant – he is currently dealing with a head injury.
Chelsea
Players injured: Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile, Cole Palmer, Liam Delap, Dario Luis Essugo
Chelsea’s star man, Cole Palmer, is currently out injured until December – this would be a huge blow to any club. However, as Chelsea have built their team around the England international, it’s difficult to see how they can consistently perform well without him.
Additionally, losing Levi Colwill is also a massive blow – the Chelsea youth product has been outstanding since his introduction the first team. Likewise, losing summer signing Liam Delap must also be a kick in the teeth for the Blues heirarchy.
Tottenham Hotspur
Players injured: Radu Dragusin, James Maddison, Dominic Solanke, Ben Davies, Dejan Kulusevski, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, Kota Takai
This list is in no particular order, but no one can deny that Tottenham Hotspur are currently experiencing worse luck with injuries than any other club in the division.
With top players like Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, Dominic Solanke and Destiny Udogie currently recieving treatment, there is little wonder for why they have dropped out of the top four. However, none of their injuries are as significant as that of James Maddison’s – he will likely miss the entirety of the 2025/26 season with an ACL tear.
