West Ham insider reveals truth | Nuno’s Hammers contract & ‘sack’ implications

Claims have been flying around – from some [very eminent sources-](https://www.claretandhugh.info/the-clause-in-nunos-west-ham-deal-thats-left-me-stunned/) that Nuno Espírito Santo came on board with West Ham in such undue haste that the contract he agreed with the club has no compensation allowance if he is fired this season, as his compensation only comes into effect next year.

All sorts of theories were put forward to explain this and fans on the _Claret and Hugh comments_ sections even suggested it to be a canny move by Hammers’ Chairman David Sullivan who could fire him on the last day of this season just to save a few million.

Nuno’s compensation clarified by insider close to West Ham

Clarification has come from insider [ExWHUemployee](https://www.thewesthamway.com/2025/10/28/time-to-turn-exwhuemployee-nuno-future-contract-update/) on the issue of Nuno Espirito Santo’s West Ham contract with a response from inside the club:

_“There have been rumours circulating today that Nuno Espirito Santos agreed to sign a contract with West Ham that contained no compensation clauses should he be sacked this season,” stated Ex. Whilst we thought this would be an odd thing to do, we put the question to the club and got back the straight to the point answer of:_

**_“Not True”._**

_“This makes more sense and would explain why West Ham are likely to give the manager more time to turn around the current situation.”_

I’ll say. No more sackings this season then. West Ham United will sink or swim with Nuno at the helm. Which is, in a strange kind of way, good to know. He’ll just have to get better at doing his job.
