West Ham United head coach Nuno Espirito Santo wants to offload James Ward-Prowse in January, according to the Times.
The West Ham midfielder featured in each of the opening six games of 2025-26 under Graham Potter for the London Stadium club.
However, Ward-Prowse has been omitted entirely from each of the four matchday squads Nuno has overseen since he took over the Hammers.
The Portuguese started life as West Ham boss with a 1-1 draw against Everton but have watched on helplessly as defeats to Arsenal, Brentford and Leeds United followed.
Nuno has preferred others ahead of Ward-Prowse in his team, and he will hope the Hammers can sell him and use the funds to strengthen his squad in January.
The West Ham head coach wants to sign a target man of a striker and a defender during the winter transfer window.
However, there is little hope of landing a decent fee for Ward-Prowse having been frozen out for a while.
The Englishman joined Nottingham Forest on loan for the 2024-25 season but it was terminated after five months, and it appears he fell out with Nuno at the time.
Both got reunited at West Ham last month and the Portuguese has no plans to reconcile with him and wants him gone.
However, Nuno needs to start getting the desired results in the coming weeks if he still wants to be in charge of the Hammers when the January transfer window opens.
There are ten Premier League games between now and when the window opens next, and the West Ham board will not watch on if their fortunes on the pitch do not improve in the coming weeks.
