Jordan Pickford is staying put at Everton and he can’t wait for the next chapter under The Friedkin Group.

Everton have invested in players for the future since The Friedkin Group completed their takeover.

The Toffees are also looking to keep experienced leaders at the club, with James Tarkowski recently penning a new deal.

Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has also signed a new contract, committing his future to the Toffees until 2029.

Jordan Pickford shares excitement for Everton future

Pickford joined Everton from Sunderland way back in 2017, making the move after the Black Cats were relegated from the Premier League.

Pickford has now played more than 300 games for Everton, all while becoming England’s undoubted number one goalkeeper.

The 31-year-old has been an exceptional signing for Everton, and he still has plenty left in the tank.

Speaking to Men In Blazers, Pickford has explained his decision to sign a new deal at Everton and snub the idea of a move elsewhere.

Pickford praised Everton as a ‘great club’ and he still sees ‘so much potential’ for the future.

Pickford noted that he has experienced really difficult times at Everton, but wants to be part of the positive times to come.

“I think it’s just a great club. There’s so much potential at this club,” said Pickford. “We’ve had, like I said earlier, a rollercoaster of a few years, which happens in football, but you come out the other side of it.

“For me, it’s the next chapter, and I’m going to be part of it. I’ve been part of eight years where we’ve not won anything. We’ve been in some dark places as a football club. I want to be here when it’s in good places as well,” he added.

The Friedkin Group must build around Jordan Pickford at Everton

Moving into Hill Dickinson Stadium is just one step towards a positive Everton future.

Pickford believes there is more to come at Everton, but it’s now down to The Friedkin Group to build a quality squad around him.

Everton need major reinforcements over the next three or four transfer windows to really kick on under David Moyes.

The likes of Pickford, Jarrad Branthwaite and Iliman Ndiaye are quality players when fit and available.

Everton need to find more of those players, and Pickford’s dream of winning silverware could be fulfilled with some strong recruitment in this new era.
