Chelsea could have a future star developing within their own network. Strasbourg striker Joaquín Panichelli continues to make waves in France.
The Argentine has been one of the revelations of Ligue 1 this season, having scored 9 goals in 12 league matches. And his latest admirer is someone who knows English football like few others – his manager, Liam Rosenior.
The Englishman represented Fulham, Reading, Hull City and Brighton during his playing days. As relayed by Argentina’s [**Tyc Sports**](https://www.tycsports.com/francia/ligue-1/panichelli-no-para-marcar-goles-francia-comparado-leyenda-alan-shearer-argentino-id694839.html), he went as far as comparing the youngster to Premier League legend Alan Shearer.
_“Panichelli is like the Argentine Alan Shearer. There aren’t many strikers like him anymore, so good inside the box. His heading tempo is incredible, he does it constantly in training. He’s magnificent, his start doesn’t surprise me,”_ Rosenior said.
At just 22 years old, Panichelli has scored nine goals in twelve games for Strasbourg, which are part of the BlueCo group. The London club have used their French affiliate as a pathway for young talents. The Argentine’s remarkable form could put him on their radar before long.
Panichelli’s rise has been swift but hard-earned. He left River Plate for free in 2021 during the pandemic, joined Alavés, then impressed at Mirandés before earning a €17m move to Strasbourg.
Now, under the guidance of an English coach with deep roots in the Premier League, the forward is being likened to one of England’s all-time greats.
If he keeps this pace, it might only be a matter of time before Stamford Bridge comes calling. Fortunately for Chelsea, they’d essentially have to negotiate with themselves to get a transfer done.
