Switch on - Albion face set-piece test but they can pose a threat of their own

The Seagulls face an Arsenal side whose fans celebrate their set-play prowess when they head to North London in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup tonight.

But they will also look to add to their own tally of three goals from corners in their last three away games.

The Seagulls have shown speed of thought and deed for goals at such set-pieces at Chelsea, Wolves and Manchester United.

And they have not conceded from a dead-ball situation since Fulham’s late equaliser on the first day of the season.

Albion head coach Fabian Hurzeler said Albion have established a “set-piece culture” and added: “I think that's one of the main things, being switched on.

“You can prepare a team but also the other team prepares and they have like different patterns, they have like an idea how to outplay us.

“You always have to be switched on, that's the main thing, because it's the easiest to be the unstructured team, no matter set-pieces or in open play”

Arsenal are top of the Premier League and have a perfect record in the Champions League but will also look to challenge in the Carabao Cup.

Hurzeler said: “The table tells the truth, so they are doing well.

“Very good out of possession, very good with set-pieces. I think these are two main factors, what makes them so successful.

“Very disciplined. everyone attacks the box, everyone defends the box, very effective, with their set-pieces.

“So it will be a big challenge for us.”
