Club ‘ready to make move’ for Newcastle United defender – Cut-price deal desired

FC Copenhagen have set their sights on Newcastle United’s Emil Krafth for the winter market.

That’s according to Bold, relayed by Campo, who cover the Danish club’s decision to shift their focus to the right-back.

Rodrigo Huescas has been first choice right-back for Copenhagen this season. Earlier this month, he suffered a serious knee injury and is set to be out of action for rest of the season.

Huescas’ setback has forced his side to look for a new fullback in January. This is where the Newcastle player comes into the picture and they are keen on signing him.

In fact, the report states Copenhagen are ‘ready to make a move’ to take the 31-year-old away from Newcastle.

The Sweden international started in the Magpies’ 4-1 win over Bradford City in the EFL Cup in September. That’s been his only appearance for Eddie Howe’s side this season.

Krafth, who is in his final year of contract, was left out of the national team squad earlier this month. These are the factors that may make the Danish club optimistic.

Bold state Copenhagen would be able to take him away from Newcastle for a ‘reasonable price’. They haven’t mentioned a figure and Transfermarket currently values Krafth at €2m.
