Manchester United are reportedly closing in on a move to sign one of Europe's brightest talents.

United had a relatively busy end to the summer transfer window, which saw five new signings added to Ruben Amorim's squad. Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, Senne Lammens and Diego Leon were all signed by the Reds and there is the potential for more to come later in the season.

The January transfer window presents the next opportunity for United to make further new signings. A fresh report has claimed that the Reds are already looking to invest in one of Europe's best young stars in the New Year.

Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has claimed that United have entered talks to sign AIK star Kevin Filling. The report claims that United will face competition from clubs in the Bundesliga for the 16-year-old's signature when the January transfer window opens.

Filling is reported to be valued at around €3million (£2.6million) and could leave AIK in the New Year if an agreement is reached with United.

The teenager has already made 10 appearances for the AIK first-team this season, despite being 16 years old, and has three goals to his name as a centre forward, including two in the Allsvenskan in Sweden.

It remains to be seen if United will be able to sign Filling when the January transfer window opens, and which clubs from the Bundesliga are also said to be interested.

The next opportunity for Filling to feature for AIK will be on Sunday against Elfsborg in the Allsvenskan.
