Guardiola gives team news for the clash with Swansea City

**Pep Guardiola**gave the news on the state of the **Man City**squad for the Carabao Cup.

The Citizens are crestfallen off the back of a 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa on Sunday, but the team are getting better after a slow start in August. They now look to take the positives from the last six weeks into domestic cup competition with progression into the quarter-finals with a win against Swansea.

“Erling Haaland* I didn't see him today but was a knock and thing is the bad day is better but now we train this after we know more exactly how does he feel and Abdukodir Khusanov is ready to play few minutes tomorrow and Rodri still is not ready.*

“*Rodri*is getting better training with us but after what happened two times mirror incident, we are going to see how evolved this week I would say. Hopefully [he will be back] soon but not yet.

“Omar Marmoush* had a long injury and step-by-step played a few minutes in the last game and his impact in movements in-behind, close to the box – Omar is exceptional,”*

“*Kalvin Phillips*is a player who was loan in the last seasons. Now he's coming back and he trained with us. We would treat him like absolutely any other player and after the decision been selected or not belongs to me. He's always unbelievable guy. It's a joy to have him in the in the locker room.

“Carabao Cup* always has been like that. So in the first stages the guys will take a lot of minutes be ready and show me show themselves and the team they are completely recovered and fit and ready and mentally, in the skills and everything to be ready to play.*

“Some rest especially the players that pay a lot a lot of minutes. The previous seasons we're in that stage with a lot of injures. Now we have less and especially we have players who need minutes, and the Carabao Cup is perfect for that.

“We have always taken [this cup] seriously. We prepare the same way incredible focus and I would say sometimes even more the tendency I think I have the due responsibility that make them feel the players through my body language or through the commitment for the game what they have to do.”
