Cole Palmer sends message to Chelsea fans as injured star is honoured by the club

Chelsea are currently missing the impact of Cole Palmer from their starting side, and the attacker has now broken his silence to Blues fans as he continues his rehabilitation.

Palmer is set to be out for most of November after the club decided that they were going to be cautious with his ongoing groin injury.

It has been clear Palmer’s creativity has been missing at Stamford Bridge in recent weeks. The Blues hardly created a clear-cut chance in their recent defeat to Sunderland.

Enzo Maresca will have been disappointed that Joao Pedro didn’t take his chance in the number 10 role, after he had been forced to bear the bulk of the minutes in the striker role early in the campaign.

Cole Palmer sends message to Chelsea fans after being honoured for 100 appearances

Palmer was back at Cobham this week as the club honoured him for making 100 appearances since his move from Manchester City.

The England international took to his personal Instagram story to share that there were plenty more games to come for him, and he couldn’t wait to return to the first team picture again.

He said: “100 and more to come! Can’t wait to be back man.”

Maresca believes Palmer is the best player he has ever coached, and has been struggling to find a suitable replacement for him.

The Chelsea Chronicle believe the manager should hand Estevao Willian the chance to play centrally in his absence, although it would be very hard for anyone to match his impact from his first 100 games at the club.

Palmer’s incredible stats after first 100 Chelsea games

Despite a few months last season where he was not at his best, the numbers are very impressive during Palmer’s time at Stamford Bridge.

Games 101

Goals 45

Assists 29

It looks a certainty that he will surpass the 100 goal mark for the club, which will already see him recognised amongst the great goalscorers in their history.

A century of goals would see him already make his way in the top 10, and only 10 goals behind the tally Eden Hazard managed in West London.

Palmer was quoted as saying he would love to have played with Hazard at Chelsea, however he has a great chance to exceed the Belgian’s numbers in his own illustrious career at the club.
