NFC NORTH: Where all four teams stand heading into Week 9

### DETROIT

**Offensive rank:** 8th (357.3)

**Scoring offense:** 3rd (30.7)

**Defensive rank:** 8th (300.0)

**Scoring defense:** 11th (21.6)

**Quarterback play:** [Jared Goff](https://www.detroitlions.com/team/players-roster/jared-goff/) – 152-for-203 (74.9), 1,631 yards, 15 TD, 3 INT, 116.4 rating

Goff currently ranks second in completion percentage and passer rating and is third in touchdown passes. He's thrown a touchdown pass in 13 straight contests.

**Quotable:** "Yeah, nice little break. 5-2 is a good spot to be," Goff said of Detroit's win over Tampa Bay before their bye week. "Coming off that I think we got Minnesota first. So good division game. We'll come back rested and ready to go for that one.

"There was a handful of things in this game that we got to clean up and work on and find a way to improve on. Certainly, offensively I don't think (Tampa Bay game) was up to our standards. Now, that's not going to take away from the enjoyment of the win but at the same time, there's a lot of things to fix right now that we need to be on top of, and we will be. We'll be fine."

**Twentyman:** One of the big things Detroit's offense must improve is their play on third down. It was something head coach Dan Campbell highlighted Monday. Detroit is 21st in the NFL converting on third down at just 37.6 percent. They finished last year third in the NFL on third down at 47.6 percent. Detroit has 16 three-and-out drives this season after having just 25 all of 2024. There is room for improvement for an offense that's third in scoring and eighth in total offense heading into Week 9.

**Next up:** vs. Minnesota (3-4), Sun. Nov. 2, 1 p.m.
