Kyle Brandt lost his mind praising Anthony Nelson during ‘Angry Runs’

For the second time in three years, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are heading into their bye week hot off a blowout win over the New Orleans Saints.

Here’s to hoping things go a little better on the other side of it than it did then. Before the Bucs face the toughest stretch of their schedule so far this season, everyone is looking back on how great things went in Week 8.

Specifically how it was one of the best games of Anthony Nelson’s career.

The longtime Buccaneer bashed the Saints on the bayou, finishing Sunday’s game with four tackles, two sacks and a pick-six. It was that last play is the one that continues to stand out and get replayed across social media feeds, as it saw him absolutely embarrass Spencer Rattler with a signature play of the season.

Needless to say, NFL Network’s Angry Runs king, Kyle Brandt, was a fan.

Nelson made the cut as one of this week’s finalists for ‘Angry Runs’, and while he didn’t end up winning he did get a pretty gnarly shoutout from Brandt who lost his mind narrating the play.

That’s so unbelievably metal — like, seriously. Check out the Wes Borland body double in the background jamming out while Brandt goes catatonic while praising Nelson. It’s a cool little exclamation point on what was by far the best day of Nelson’s career so far.

What made his even better than it otherwise would have been was the fact that he’s been in the mix for so long down in Tampa Bay. He’s never been a starter but he’s managed to carve out such an important role player spot on the roster that the Bucs gave him a $10 million contract this past offseason.

Keep in mind Haason Reddick got around $14 million, and that’s who Nelson was replacing on Sunday.

It was a huge game for one of the most likable players on the team, and so see him get spotlighted by Brandt in such a cool was awesome. It’s yet another example of the Bucs impressing all the right people are they continue to put together an incredibly satisfying season of success.
