Club seriously considering Arsenal transfer option – Brighton transfer seen as the example

HSV Hamburg are considering a permanent deal for Arsenal’s Fabio Vieira next summer. But only if they can ensure a quick profit from a sale.

That’s [according to SportBILD](https://sportbild.bild.de/), who report that the German club are considering using a purchase clause in the current deal they did with Arsenal.

The newspaper explains that while the focus at the club is on young talent that can be developed and sold, there is also a desire to secure smart transfers when they come along.

The deal to sign Vieira from Arsenal is one such deal. He joined in the summer on loan in one of the surprising moves late in the window.

That loan deal includes a purchase option worth around €20m. Ordinarily that would be too much for the North German club. But they could be tempted to spend it if they can secure a ‘top tier deal’ in future.

The idea would be that Vieira impresses so much with them this season that they sign him permanently from Arsenal and then sell him on at a profit. This is something other clubs have done successfully in the division.

Hamburg are looking at Nuremberg in particular. They sold Stefanos Tzimas to Brighton this summer after using an €18m clause to buy him from PAOK Thessaloniki. They did that after already agreeing a €26.5m deal with Brighton for him.

Hamburg could do the same with Vieira. And there’s a belief there’ll be suitors too as he’s made a flying start since arriving from Arsenal. We’re sure the Gunners are hoping that continues, as they could be guaranteed €20m next summer if it does.
