After witnessing a tremendous display from a long-time target, Chelsea are pondering a monster £66 million bid to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
With how Chelsea have been hit by injuries and suspensions this season, it makes sense that Enzo Maresca and Todd Boehly are looking at versatile players who can do a job in multiple positions.
Players like Malo Gusto and Reece James have been deployed in defence and midfield, and Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo have shown they can adapt to different roles quickly.
But the Blues are eyeing a player that can quite literally excel in any position. And at 22, he fits Chelsea’s ideal profile.

Chelsea pondering a bid for Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga
Chelsea and Real Madrid look likely to do business together in the near future.
Vinicius Jr. is on Chelsea’s radar as relations continue to sour in the Spanish capital, and Endrick is a player Chelsea still rate highly. Both dissatisfied attackers could be exiting the Bernabeu.
On Madrid’s side, they have long-admired Enzo Fernandez and continue to explore a potential move.

But the most recent and most substantial links have been to French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga. Real Madrid outlet Defensa Central report that Chelsea are considering making an offer after being wowed by the 22-year-old during El Clasico.
The report states: “Chelsea have been chasing Camavinga for some time, a player they’ve always liked but who hasn’t quite settled in at Madrid.
“However, his strong performance, even playing as a right winger, has put the London club on his trail again, and in recent hours, there’s even been talk within the English club of possible offers of between 70 and 75 million euros.”
Camavinga would prefer to stay at Real Madrid
Wearing the white jersey is as attractive a prospect as you can put in front of a footballer. Madrid’s pull is simply unmatched.
The report continues: “He has a contract until June 30, 2029, and he wants to fulfill it. His dream is to succeed at the club and be remembered as one of its greatest legends.”
But with how much talent Xabi Alonso is juggling, the minutes might just not be there.
For a world-class talent like Camavinga to be short on playing time sounds absurd, but his Clasico performance on the right wing is proof that getting into that midfield is no easy feat.
Chelsea have talked about Camavinga for years, and if he’s not going to get enough of a run for Los Blancos, why not bring him to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea should absolutely throw that bid on the table.
