The Gunners star boy has been impressed how the former Crystal Palace man has settled into life in north London.

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has praised teammate Eberechi Eze for how he has transitioned to life at the club after making a summer transfer from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace.

The Gunners paid £67.5 million to beat Tottenham Hotspur to the transfer and Eze has gone on to make an immediate impact for Mikel Arteta’s side, stepping up to the plate with captain Martin Odegaard injured.

Eze scored his first goal for Arsenal against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and then bagged his second in the 1-0 win over his former club Crystal Palace on Sunday. That was a moment of inspiration as he volleyed past Dean Henderson following a set play.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Saka was asked for his opinion on how his England teammate has done since joining Arsenal. He said: “He’s fitted in like a glove, I’d say. He’s happy, he’s playing and he’s playing very well, which is important. I’m happy to have him at Arsenal and have a player that wants to be here and loves the club. He’s going to give everything for this club and that’s what you need.”

Arsenal take on Brighton in Carabao Cup action on Wednesday evening before making the trip to Burnley on Saturday. The fixtures continue to come thick and fast for Arteta’s side, who are early frontrunners to lift the Premier League title after a strong start to the campaign.

Saka: Arsenal ‘overanalysed’ in Premier League

When asked about his hopes for the season, Saka said: “When you’re an Arsenal player, there’s always constant talk about where you’re finishing and how you’re performing. Sometimes I feel it’s overanalysed. This year, we’re a very strong group and we’ve got a lot of quality.

“We’ve suffered already a lot with injuries but the players that have come in have shown that we can keep the level at the highest and that’s what it’s going to take for us to go all the way. That’s where we’ve slipped up in a few seasons but this season I think we’ve got that and it’s making me really believe we can do it.

“I think it’s a bit early to talk about our year and the title race. We’re still in October. Of course, I’ve been in a title race for the last three years and finished second. It’s the understanding from that and what I’ve learnt is now it’s not so important, it’s in April, that’s when you need to be there and try and be first place. Now it’s about staying around it, building your momentum and going on a run of performances.”
