New York Knicks’ offense disappears after halftime in loss to Milwaukee

The New York Knicks’ strong start wasn’t enough to hold off the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night, as they fell 122-112 for their second straight loss after opening the season 2-0.

Jalen Brunson led the way for New York with 36 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals. Mikal Bridges added 24 points, while Landry Shamet — making his first start with the Knicks in two seasons — chipped in 16. Jordan Clarkson was one of three bench players to score, finishing with 10 points.

The second half proved to be New York’s downfall. After scoring 71 points in the first half, the Knicks managed only 40 after the break. Their second-quarter total alone (45 points) outpaced their entire second-half production. The 12-point halftime lead evaporated in the third quarter, and Milwaukee capitalized, outscoring New York 62-40 over the final 24 minutes to seal the win.

Karl-Anthony Towns struggled offensively, scoring just eight points on 2-for-12 shooting, including 1-for-9 in the third quarter. His shooting woes stalled New York’s offensive rhythm as the Bucks gained momentum.

Under new head coach Mike Brown, the Knicks are still adjusting to new faces and finding their chemistry. Recent acquisitions such as Clarkson, Guerschon Yabusele and Trey Jemison III continue to settle into their roles.

New York will have two days to regroup before taking on the undefeated Chicago Bulls on Friday in hopes of regaining early-season momentum.
