Ollie Scarles is set for a spell on the sidelines after sustaining an injury in West Ham’s defeat to Leeds United.
Scarles dislocated his shoulder at Elland Road after being handed a spot in Nuno Espirito Santo’s starting line-up.
Nuno’s decision to start Scarles at right-back raised eyebrows, but the youngster will not be starting again anytime soon as details emerge on the injury.
The defender is set for a period out of action after confirming he has undergone surgery on the shoulder issue.

Ollie Scarles to miss whole of November
West Ham were beaten 2-1 by Leeds and now find themselves four points from safety in a situation seemingly getting worse by the week.

Nuno will be forced into West Ham changes against Newcastle, with Scarles one of those that will definitely be dropping out.
West Ham confirmed via their official website on Wednesday that Scarles underwent successful surgery that will rule him out until some point in December.
West Ham performance director Richard Collinge said: “The surgery has gone well and Ollie will now concentrate on his recovery and rehabilitation here at Rush Green, with the aim of returning to action in December.”
While that is a vague return timeline, it confirms the 19-year-old talent will miss every West Ham game in November at the very least.
And Scarles took to Instagram on Wednesday, shortly after the announcement, to send a message to supporters as he thanked them for their well wishes.
“Gutted to be out for a period of time,” he said. “Surgery was successful. Road to recovery now. Thanks for all the messages.”
Scarles followed up the message with a love heart emoji.
What games will Scarles miss for West Ham?
West Ham have four Premier League matches in November, spread out either side of the two-week international break.
After hosting Newcastle next weekend, the Hammers then welcome Burnley to the London Stadium on 8 November.
A trip to Bournemouth is then followed by the visit of Liverpool to conclude the month.

Not that an injury can ever come at a good time, especially for a young player starting to find his feet in the senior setup, but it is better for this to happen than in, say, December.
Scarles needs to spend the next few weeks resting up before then building up his fitness and hopefully returning to Nuno’s squad as early in December as possible.
