Barcelona to hold an open training session at Spotify Camp Nou in November

Following multiple delays and setbacks, FC Barcelona are targeting a return to the renovated Spotify Camp Nou next month.

The home game against Athletic Club, on 22 November, right after the international break, is likely to mark the Blaugrana’s move back to their hallowed stadium.

Open training session before full return

Now, according to Juli Claramunt of Jijantes FC, Barcelona are preparing an open training session at the Spotify Camp Nou on 7 November, giving fans and club members the chance to visit the stadium before an official match takes place.

It will serve as a pilot for the club to test out the stadium before hosting an official match. Although there is no official confirmation yet, the announcement is expected soon.

Barcelona are already working on the logistics, with particular attention to accessibility to ensure that no one is left out for organisational reasons. While the plan is in its final stage, the official green light is expected soon.

The report states that a total of 23,000 people could attend the open training session – given that the club already holds the first occupancy licence from tje City Council, which allows for a capacity of 27,000 spectators

Public communication will follow shortly afterwards, provided there are no setbacks.

As mentioned above, Barcelona continue to work with the aim of returning to the Spotify Camp Nou at the end of November, for the fixture against Athletic Club.

In the coming days, the Blaugrana expect a visit from the City Council’s technical inspectors, who must certify that the necessary work has been completed in order to grant the 1B licence, which would permit an increased capacity of 45,000 spectators.
