“Nobody Wants Him Anymore”: Minnesota Vikings Fans Erupt Over Potential Kirk Cousins Trade…

The Minnesota Vikings have a 3-4 record this season and it appears as if time might be running out on them for the 2025 NFL season. Minnesota is in a must-win situation on the road on Sunday against the 5-2 Detroit Lions.

Carson Wentz has been the Vikings starting quarterback for the last five games, but he is out for the remainder of the season. J.J. McCarthy is going to be the starter for Minnesota against Detroit this weekend. He has not played since week two against the Atlanta Falcons. It will be interesting to see how well McCarthy is going to play in his first game back. However, the Vikings are looking to trade for a quarterback before the NFL trade deadline and maybe they’ll trade for Kirk Cousins.

With the Falcons having Michael Penix Jr. as the starting quarterback, there may be a market for Cousins to be traded elsewhere at the NFL trade deadline. NFL Talk Sports said on their Twitter page,

“Breaking: The Vikings have checked in with the Falcons regarding a potential trade for QB Kirk Cousins, per league source.”

If Minnesota is interested in trading for Cousins, it potentially means that this team does not want McCarthy starting. This is what some Vikings fans had to say on Twitter about the trade rumors:

That scared to start McCarthy that they want a washed Cousins?

We’ll take a shirt from the mall of America and a snowball.

Sure they did! Did you see Kirk Cousins play last week? Nobody wants him anymore.

There’s a non zero chance JJM is the worst QB of all time

Vikes cannot afford Cousins. Too much money spent on OL and DL.

Cousins has not seen a lot of game action this season for the Falcons. He has completed 68.4% of his passes for 202 yards. He is 37 years old. It would be a surprise that the Vikings would want to trade for him at this stage of his career and not just ride with McCarthy potentially for the rest of the 2025 NFL season.
