What’s next for the Los Angeles Rams before the November 4 trade deadline?

The Los Angeles Rams are in an amazing position coming out of the bye week. They made a great trade for one of the better corners on the market.

They get to play a weak opponent, who are really sellers this trade season in the Saints. Plus, they get to test a potential trade candidate in person.

Being in this kind of position for a team as good as the Rams just doesn’t get talked about. The job Sean McVay and Les Snead have done for this organization has been underappreciated at best and overlooked at worst.

There is a good possibility that the Rams won’t make another move until after this weekend's game. There are a questions that need to be answered for the potential absence of Puka Nacua being out again and a suitable replacement for Tutu Atwell, who was placed on Injured Reserve. And they cut cornerback Tre Brown.

After the weekend, there is a possibility that the Rams could not care for any of the other wide receiver pieces that they have on the roster to fill the void Atwell leaves for the next four weeks.

Jake Ellenbogen on his X account posted an idea saying:

“Not gonna lie been talking with @bgrisakTST about this but the #Rams have to strike while the iron is hot with Matthew Stafford. This is a Super Bowl team. You have 9 draft picks in 2026. Go for the jugular and get that last piece. Is that Brian Thomas Jr.? Is that Jaylen Waddle? Is that Rashid Shaheed? I don't know. Hell it could be another pass rusher or running back but I think you are justified to go for it and you may not need to give up any of your 1st's to do it.”

Besides potentially trading for a speedster wide receiver to replace Tutu, who do you replace, and what are they really upgrading?

One potential spot that they could do is help special teams, but where do they start? It has been so bad this season that the idea of trading capital to help special teams sounds crazy.

My idea, since they have a roster spot open:

I love Rob Havenstein, but if he isn’t truly able to be healthy, then Braxton Jones needs a change of scenery. Move him over to right tackle and allow him to be a good pass blocker and down hill blocker for the run game.

Adding more protection for Matt Stafford, who has been dealing with back issues this season, would be a very good thing for the 37-year-old. Even ESPN’s Matt Bowen and Jeremy Fowler both put Jones as a team fit for the Rams.

Plus, they would be able to get him for very cheap. Maybe another swap of sixth-round picks in 2026, or even cheaper, a seventh. And that would be so cheap to add a great backup that can take over when Havenstein retires.
