Brock Bowers’ greatness rudely interrupted by injury

Let’s look at how the Las Vegas Raiders’ 2024 draft class has fared so far in the 2025 NFL season as they return from the bye:

The star tight end missed the past three games with a lingering knee injury. He was injured in Week 1, but played through Week 4. Bowers, who broke numerous NFL records as a rookie, has 19 catches for 225 yards. Still, he is expected to be back Sunday against Jacksonville and should be back to full health. So, expect Bowers to compile big numbers down the stretch.

It’s been an odd and rough season for the second-round pick. He was the center for the entire offseason, but then was moved to guard after losing an an early-training camp battle to Jordan Meredith. Powers-Johnson has been up-and-down this season and he dealt with some health issue. In Week 7, he was benched in favor of Alex Cappa in the fourth quarter after struggling. He is a talented player and should get a chance to redeem himself. But Powers-Johnson’s struggles this season were not expected. he was expected to be breakout performer, but it’s been a struggle at times.

The third-round pick has been the starting right tackle. He hasn’t been perfect, but he has had some solid moments.

The fourth-round pick hasn’t played on defense yet this season. He finished last season playing, at least, 94 percent of the snaps in the final eight games of the season. He clearly doesn’t have the trust of this year’s staff yet.

The fifth-round pick from [Ohio State](https://www.landgrantholyland.com) has played defense in just two games (26 snaps). He has played 87 percent of the special-teams snaps. There was opportunity at linebacker this year and so far Eichenberg hasn’t been able to take advantage.

The sixth-round pick is the No. 3 running back, but plays sparingly. He is, though, averaging 27.2 on 13 kick returns.

Laulu, claimed last year off waivers from Indianapolis, has been one of the best players in this class. He had sacks and he is playing 64 percent fo the snaps. He is a good player who is getting better.
